Ever since Cameron Moll’s excellent post about Influence vs. Inspiration I have found myself looking at the way I work differently. Therefore, it is exciting to see how the candidacy of Barak Obama has inspired so many creative people to contribute their craft to the movement. This is apparent in many places but take a look at Design/ers for Obama. You can see evidence of influential styles of course but the variety of posters suggests that artists and designers are feeling a connection between the Obama movement and something deep in their world view. (The posters can be downloaded as pdfs. And, they still appear to be accepting submissions.) Regardless of how you choose to vote you have to admit that as an artist/designer these are interesting times.
Remember to vote on Tuesday, November 4.

Aside from Obama’s sound political ideologies, I do believe the second greatest thing he has given our country is plain old inspiration. That ‘All Colors Together’ poster is fantastic.
