My National Geographic Moment

When I was a member of the “society,” I was always drawn to the aerial photograph of the month. Viewing the earth with no obvious or immediate sense of scale unlocks a certain kind of wonderland. I’ve been waiting for a chance to add to it, but not having access to a Cessna or a hot air balloon, I’ve had to be inspired by looking over railings. Finally a bit of magic happened looking down on the Mississippi from the 10th Avenue Bridge this spring.
