One Giant Headline for Mankind

I found a stash of moon landing newspapers crammed in a photo album in a box of stuff I cleared out of my dad’s basement. I caught the space bug as a kid and always imagined one day I’d be sitting on the roof of an RV in a lawn chair sipping whatever retired guys in black socks and brown sandals sip. Sounds like September is the last shuttle launch so I thought this would be a good time to get these back on display. Now off to find the perfect pair of brown sandals.

The movie Tron was an early pioneer of computer animation and a memorable moment in my youth. Now, just in time for my son’s youth Disney is releasing a follow-up Tron Legacy. I’m kinda geekin’ out about that. Check out the trailer here.

Mitch Pryor makes some swell looking urban bikes by hand over at Map in Portland (of all places ;) The flash site seems to be over-crunching some of the beautiful photos so look for the “link” label in the lower right of each one to view them larger on Flickr. Once you can enjoy the pictures you’ll enjoy the colors and cool retro looks. I dig the panniers he uses too.
Colorful Cities Aren't Just For Kids

I love that somebody sat down and chose the top 10 comic book cities. I think I love it even more since that somebody was Britain’s Architects’ Journal and because having never been to England myself I’m stuck imagining it to be like Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice in which everyone would no doubt find comic book cities positively distressing.
Lego is one of those toys that you just never really grow out of. Now to up the enticement level for adults (and the six or seven kids in the world who don’t want to build ray guns and space ships) prepare for the upcoming Lego Architecture series. These two sets feature prominent Frank Loyd Wright designs but the question is, what’s next? Ready more at PraireMod
My little brother has been taller than me since grade school. But, he’ll never be as old as I am. Hence the celebratory AthosBot in his honor.
Cheers J

Have you played with this yet? It’s pretty awesome. It pulls images from flickr based on the colors you pick (up to 10). I wasted way more time than I should have playing with it.
